We started in a very small venue in Epping, purely as somewhere to go to meet friends we had made through the various dance classes we attended.
We wanted to create a warm welcoming environment that celebrated people coming together for the love of Salsa and Latin music.
Our first event was very small with only 13 people, but word soon spread and people started to notice us. The entrance fee back then was simply the venues day membership cost which we collected and gave to them after every event.
We soon outgrew that venue and the search was on for a new venue.
North Weald Village Hall welcomed us and provides the fantastic shell from which we create the Lazy Salsa magic.
We knew right from the start we did not want to be a profit making outfit. Our dedicated crew love creating a space where people can dance, smile and be happy.
After all this is not just Salsa, it`s Social.
We have been able to raise incredible sums for some very deserving charities which we have listed below.
We love feedback for possible charities, but do prefer the smaller human based organisations, especially childrens charities where a few thousand pounds really can make a huge difference.
The Lazy Salsa Crew are all volunteers and donate their time freely every month to make these events happen. Without their hard work and sheer dedication this would simply not happen.
If you would like to join the crew and can spare one Sunday a month to help us then please get in touch.

On the 13th July 2025 we had great fun chatting with Steve Beckles- Ebusua on his Talk AM show on the Afro Latin Radio station. The link to that interview can be found here. LINK
